Scan a boy's card, scan the points he earned. Spend them in the store.
Scan the boy's ID card first, then scan his point cards. A barcode scanner types straight in — you do not need to tap the box.
No boy scanned yet
Points are only given by scanning a point card. There is no button that adds them — if a boy has points, it is because a card was scanned for him.
From a spreadsheet: in Excel or Google Sheets choose Save as (or Download) and pick CSV, then load the file here. The first column should be the name; if there is a class column it is picked up automatically.
Or type them:
One boy per line. Add his class after a comma if you want:
Yossi Klein, Class 1. Anybody already on the list is skipped.
This is the same student list the progress tracker
uses. Add a boy here and he appears there too, with his points beside his scores.
Photos go on his ID card and show up here and on the scan screen, so you
can see you have the right boy before you give the points. Take the picture head-on against
a plain wall — it is cropped to a tall card shape. Each one is shrunk to about 15 KB,
so twenty boys add roughly 300 KB. Photos stay on this device and go into your backup
file, nowhere else. Do not put photos on while the site has no sign-in.
Leave How many empty for something you never run out of. Every item gets its own barcode — print the item cards and stick them on the shelf, then scan the item to take the points off.
The boy who never causes trouble also never gets handed a card, and nothing in the day tells you that. This is the list. It counts cards earned — spending points is not the same as being noticed.
These are the buttons staff tap at the station before scanning a card. The reason lands on the boy's history and on the sheet that goes home, so a parent can see what he actually did. Keep them short enough to read at a glance.
Every point card is printed once and works once. It carries its own serial number, and the moment it is scanned it is spent — scanning it again is refused, for anybody. Make a run of cards here, print them, and hand them out. Print each run once. A photocopy of a card will not give a second point.

Every card is 3.5 by 2 inches — a business card — ten to a sheet, so plain business-card stock and standard laminating pouches both fit. Print on card stock and laminate: a creased barcode will not scan. Keep the point cards on a ring on your belt.
The card buttons save a PDF. Open it from your downloads and print it from there — a PDF prints the same on any device, which printing straight from a browser does not. Set the scale to 100%, not “Fit to page”, or the cards come out slightly the wrong size to cut. You can also email the file to yourself and print it from a computer.
Actual size — 3.5 by 2 inches, the same as a business card. Ten to a sheet.
Actual size. Each card has its own serial and works once.
Points live on this device only, in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Back up every week and keep the file somewhere that is not this tablet — email it to yourself, or put it in a shared folder. Try loading one back once, on purpose, so you know it works: a backup nobody has ever restored is a guess, not a safety net. If two staff give points on two different tablets, each backs up and one of you merges — boys are matched by name and no points are lost or double-counted.
